Percussion Workshops(All Ages)
Facilitated by Oginga Osaze and Etienne Joseph, Abela’s percussion workshops are a perfect, kinesthetic entry to music therapy and African diaspora culture. Mining the wealth of percussion rhythms and songs from Africa, South America and the Caribbean our workshops impart cultural understanding in an environment of co-operation and inclusion. In addition to the core musical skills of controlling sounds, creating and developing ideas, composition and appraisal, Abela's percussion workshops reach further, developing participants key skills and promoting spiritual, moral, social and cultural growth. Suitable for varying ages and abilities, we offer both individual workshops and extended courses dependant on the requirements of your organisation. In either case, Abela provide hands-on tuition, written background documentation, audio cds for practice and reference, and a range of traditional percussion instruments as required.  |
